I am a Mother of 4 children aged 16years to 9months and I live in Inner West Sydney, NSW.
I’m an advocate for child led play in particular outdoor play. Since becoming a parent and finishing a 20 year career in a corporate role, my passion and life journey has turned to sharing the joys of sensory play with our young children.
My last corporate role as a Project Manager saw me using best practices to deliver multimillion dollar data projects.
As a parent wanting to raise strong, connected, conscientious healthy children there are a multitude of benefits to outdoor play.
The idea for the Mobile Sensory Play Garden came about after attending a seminar in early 2017 Called “Unveiling the Therapeutic Potential in Outdoor Play” The presenter was a Pediatric Occupational Therapist, Angela Hanscom.
Angela is an advocate for unrestricted outdoor play for children and their healthy development and has written the book “Barefoot and Balanced”.
Recently I was selected to be a community representative on the Canada Bay Council review of their “Let’s Play Strategy”. The review is to assist council to plan for the future of their recreational outdoor spaces, with the focus being on inclusive well-designed, diverse and high value outdoor play spaces that attract and capture people of all ages and abilities.
Thank you for taking the time to learn a little more about the Mobile Sensory Play Garden. I look forward to discussing future opportunities with you. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
